The nation is about to get a bang out of one Singer Island artist.
Friday a TV crew will shoot
Persia-born Reza for an upcoming Good Morning, America feature.
The location - Bonnette Hunting Preserve - seems a bit unusual, but it's
been Reza's studio for his Guns & Roses series.
For canvases the artist uses sheet vinyl on which lie has painted
flowers and unadorned sheet metal. He places dots at various location on
the works and for the coup de grace, has marksmen shoot the dots
with rifles, It is not pop-gun art.
In addition to his high-caliber work, Reza has done a high-calorie
series of huge paintings called A Chocolate covered World. - It
includes a Hershey bar, M&Ms, Bazooka gum and Oreos, among others.
He
has a big show opening in Detroit at the end of June, but the Oreo won't
be available. reportedly, has been bought by Nabisco. He'll be showing
here later in the fall.
